Silk PLAs are some of my favorite filaments to print with. Silk Filaments are exceptionally beautiful when they are used to print out irregular shaped objects with lots of curved surfaces. Vases and figurines are some of the objects that lend themselves well to being printed in silk PLA. Below is my short list of some of the best silk filament brands and colors I’ve used.

Some silk filaments like carbon fiber are very abrasive and require special hardened steel nozzles. Most silk PLA is not abrasive and prints just like regular PLA does. You should be able to use your slicer’s normal PLA settings, copy them into new silk PLA Cura settings with the only change being that you’ll probably need to increase your temperature and cooling fan settings.
